Questions about agent skills
Do Claude skills work in Codex and Cursor?
Usually, yes. Most packs follow the open Agent Skills format, which Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and other agents read. Install steps differ by agent, so each page lists the agents the maker names and the command for each.
How is a skill different from an MCP server?
An MCP server connects the agent to a tool or data source. A skill tells the agent how to do a task: which steps to take and in what order. Many setups use both.
Is it safe to install a skill?
Read it first. A skill can ship scripts, hooks and shell commands that run on your machine. Each page here lists what a pack runs, taken from the files in its repo.
