ScratchDB is a directory of tools for people who build software: databases, auth, hosting, payments, UI libraries, AI coding tools and LLM APIs. Every listing shows live numbers next to the description, so you can see how widely a tool is used and how actively it is maintained before you pick it.

Where the numbers come from

  • GitHub stars, forks and releases come from the public GitHub API for the tool's main repository.
  • Weekly downloads come from the public npm API for the package most people install.
  • Numbers refresh once a day. Tools without a public repository or npm package show no numbers rather than estimates.

How tools are listed

Listings are free. Descriptions and comparisons are written by us, and we say when something is sponsored. Sponsored placements are always labelled and never change a tool's ranking or numbers.
