Prompt Master
nidhinjs/prompt-master
Prompt Master is a free, MIT-licensed Claude skill that writes prompts for other AI tools. It detects the target tool, pulls out nine dimensions of intent, asks at most three questions, picks a prompt structure, trims every word that does not change the output and hands back one copyable block. It covers coding agents, chat models, image, video and voice tools, and automation platforms.

What is inside Prompt Master
| Skill or command | What it makes the agent do |
|---|---|
| prompt-master | The single skill. Routes to the right prompt structure for the target tool and returns one prompt plus a one-line strategy note. |
| references | Templates and a list of 35 prompt patterns that waste credits, loaded as needed. |
The repo has one root SKILL.md with a references folder. The 35-pattern count and the version history come from the README.
A good fit for
- People who prompt several AI tools and want each prompt shaped for its target
- Developers who brief coding agents like Cursor or Claude Code and want fewer re-prompts
- Image and video prompt writers using Midjourney, Stable Diffusion or ComfyUI
- Anyone who wants a weak prompt rewritten with the reasoning shown in one line
Skip it if
- Anyone who prefers to write prompts by hand and only wants a checklist
- Work where the tool has no prompt to tune, since the skill is only about prompts
- Claude Code users who expect a plugin install, because the README marks the clone route as not suggested
How Prompt Master works
The pipeline runs silently: detect the tool, extract intent, ask up to three clarifying questions, apply a framework, audit for token waste and deliver. It also keeps a memory block of earlier decisions, such as stack and naming rules, so a later prompt does not contradict them.
The README's version history shows ongoing updates for new models, and it removed techniques it judged likely to produce made-up output, such as tree-of-thought prompting.
