Marketing Skills
coreyhaines31/marketingskills
50 marketing skills for AI agents covering SEO, copywriting, conversion, paid ads, analytics, pricing and growth.
Marketing Skills is a free, MIT-licensed pack of 50 skills for AI agents, built by Corey Haines for technical marketers and founders. It covers conversion optimization, copywriting, SEO, paid ads, analytics, email, pricing, launches and sales enablement. Every skill reads a shared product-marketing context file first, so the agent knows your product, audience and positioning before it writes or audits anything.

What is inside Marketing Skills
| Skill | What it makes the agent do |
|---|---|
| product-marketing | Creates the product marketing context file that every other skill reads first. |
| seo-audit | Audits a site for technical and on-page SEO issues. |
| ai-seo | Optimizes content to be cited in AI answers, covering AEO, GEO and LLMO. |
| programmatic-seo | Plans SEO pages built at scale from templates and data. |
| copywriting | Writes or rewrites marketing copy for homepages, landing pages and other pages. |
| cro | Optimizes conversion on pages and forms. |
| ads | Plans paid campaigns on Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn and other networks. |
| analytics | Sets up, improves or audits analytics tracking and event measurement. |

The rest cover ab-testing, attribution, churn-prevention, competitors, content-strategy, emails, launch, onboarding, referrals, revops, sales-enablement, schema, signup, social and more. The README groups them as conversion, content and copy, SEO, paid, measurement, retention, growth, strategy and sales.
What Marketing Skills runs on your machine
| Hooks | None. |
|---|---|
| Bundled scripts | Yes, optional. tools/clis/ holds 64 small Node.js command-line wrappers for marketing services such as Ahrefs, and the skills point agents to them. The repo also has validation and sync scripts for contributors. |
| Network calls | Yes, only if you use the CLIs. Each wrapper calls its service's API, for example api.ahrefs.com. The skills themselves are Markdown. |
| API keys needed | Only for the optional CLIs. Each one reads its own API key from an environment variable, for example AHREFS_API_KEY, and exits if it is missing. |
These are facts read from the repo, not a security rating. Read the files before you install any skill.
How much context Marketing Skills uses
| All 50 skills | 106,251 words across every SKILL.md file |
|---|---|
| Largest skill | ai-seo, 4,458 words |
| Loaded at start | Only each skill's name and description. The full text loads when a task needs that skill. |
Word counts are measured from the repo every day. Reference files a skill loads on demand are not counted.
How Marketing Skills works
Each skill is a Markdown file with a description that tells the agent when to use it. Skills cross-reference each other, so copywriting, cro and ab-testing point to one another, and the README shows the dependency map. The product-marketing skill is the foundation: it writes a context file in .agents/ that the other skills check before they ask you questions.
The repo also has a tools registry with integration guides for marketing services. The README says Verified Partners fund the project, are disclosed in their guides and are listed beside neutral options, and that partner status never changes what a skill recommends. Version 2.0 renamed 17 skills, and the README gives the cleanup steps for old installs.
A good fit for
- Technical marketers and founders who want an agent to handle SEO audits, copy, experiments and launch plans
- Teams that want one shared product context so every marketing task starts from the same positioning
- Marketers who want to install only a few skills, such as cro and copywriting, using the skills CLI
- SaaS and software products, which is where most of the examples and the 140 marketing ideas are aimed
Skip it if
- Marketers who do not use a coding agent, because the skills run inside agents and are not an app
- Anyone who wants the agent to pull live data without setup, since the optional CLIs each need their own API key
- Brand and creative work, where the skills give frameworks and checklists, not a house style

Questions about Marketing Skills
Does Marketing Skills work with Claude Code and Cursor?
Yes. The README lists Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor and Windsurf, and says it works with any agent that supports the Agent Skills spec. Claude Code also has a plugin install.
Is it free?
Yes. The library is MIT licensed. The README says Verified Partners fund the work and are disclosed.
Do I need a product marketing file first?
It helps. The product-marketing skill creates a context file at .agents/product-marketing.md, and the other skills read it before asking you questions. Older installs that keep the file in .claude/ still work.
How do I upgrade from version 1?
Version 2.0 renamed 17 skills, so old-name folders stay beside the new ones. The README lists the folders to delete and then says to reinstall.
Do the skills call paid APIs?
Not by themselves. Optional CLIs in tools/clis/ wrap services such as Ahrefs, and each needs its own API key in an environment variable.
