Upstash alternatives

10 tools you can use instead of Upstash, ranked by live GitHub stars and npm downloads. Supabase, Redis and MongoDB Atlas are the most used. Stats updated 5 hours ago.

When Upstash is not a good fit

Upstash is a serverless data platform made by Upstash, Inc. in California. Its products include Redis, Vector, QStash for messaging and scheduling, Workflow, Box and Blob. Redis has a free tier of 256 MB and 500,000 commands a month, then costs $0.20 per 100,000 commands on pay as you go.

It is a weaker choice for:

  • Heavy sustained Redis traffic on pay as you go, where per-command cost adds up and a fixed plan fits better
  • Teams that need to run the service on their own infrastructure: the service is proprietary and hosted
  • Pay-as-you-go databases above 100 GB
