About Supabase
Supabase gives every project a full Postgres database and builds backend services around it. Tables get REST and GraphQL APIs automatically, row level security policies in Postgres control who can read and write each row, and clients can subscribe to changes over Realtime.
Around the database it adds user authentication, file storage, database functions and Edge Functions, plus a vector and embeddings toolkit for AI features. Everything is managed from a web dashboard, and the whole stack is open source under Apache-2.0, so it can also be self-hosted.
Supabase was founded in 2020 and is based in San Francisco. In June 2026 it raised a $500 million Series F at a $10.5 billion valuation and said it had more than 9 million developers and over 250,000 customers.
