LangGraph
LangGraph is an MIT-licensed orchestration framework for building, managing and deploying long-running, stateful agents. It is made by LangChain Inc, the company behind LangChain, and provides durable execution, human-in-the-loop controls and memory. The framework is free; deployment is priced through LangSmith, whose Plus plan costs $39 per seat a month.

A good fit for
- Agents that run for a long time and must survive failures
- Workflows that need a person to approve or edit state mid-run
- Teams that already use LangChain or LangSmith
- Agent designs where you want explicit control over every step
Not a good fit for
- Quick prototypes where a higher-level framework needs less code
- Fixed monthly costs for hosted deployment: usage is metered in LSUs
- Teams that do not want to learn graph and state concepts first
LangGraph pricing
The LangGraph library is free under the MIT license. The official LangGraph page points to LangSmith for paid deployment, where plans are per seat plus pay as you go usage.
| Plan | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| LangGraph library | $0 | The open source framework. |
| LangSmith Developer | $0 per seat a month | Up to 5k base traces a month, then pay as you go. |
| LangSmith Plus | $39 per seat a month | Up to 10k base traces a month, then pay as you go, and 1 free Serverless (Small) deployment. |
| LangSmith Enterprise | Custom pricing | Custom terms, with pay as you go charges. |
| Deployment usage | Metered in LSUs (1 LSU = $1) | Serverless and Dedicated deployments are charged by compute and memory used. |

Main features
- Durable execution
- Agents resume automatically from where they stopped after a failure.
- Human in the loop
- Inspect and change agent state while a run is in progress.
- Memory
- Short-term memory within a run and long-term memory across runs.
- Debugging with LangSmith
- Trace and inspect runs through the LangSmith integration.
- Deployment
- Deploy agents through LangSmith Deployment, as Serverless or Dedicated.
- Works with LangChain
- Use LangChain integrations and components inside graphs.
About LangGraph
LangGraph models an agent as a graph of steps with shared state. It is described as low-level: it does not hide prompts or architecture, and it is meant for agents that run for a long time and keep state.
It is inspired by Google's Pregel and Apache Beam, and its public interfaces draw from NetworkX. It works with the LangChain ecosystem, including LangChain components, Deep Agents and LangSmith for debugging.
LangGraph has no separate price. Hosted deployment runs through LangSmith Deployment, which the LangSmith pricing page bills in LangChain Standard Units, where 1 LSU equals $1.
