A good fit for

  • Non-developers who want an app in the Apple App Store and Google Play without writing code
  • Mobile MVPs and prototypes that need a database, logins and push notifications
  • Small teams that want one flat monthly price with no usage-based charges
  • Apps that already keep their data in Airtable or Google Sheets

Not a good fit for

  • Developers who want to write code: Adalo is a visual builder, not a code editor
  • Larger teams: the top self-serve plan allows 5 published apps and 10 app editors
  • Publishing for free: app store and web publishing need a paid plan, and the free plan caps each app at 500 records

About Adalo

Adalo lets people build mobile and web apps without writing code. You lay out screens on a multi-screen visual canvas, add components such as lists, forms, charts and chat, and link them to data. One build can be published to the Apple App Store, Google Play and a custom web domain.

Each app gets a hosted Postgres database, and apps can also use external data such as Airtable or Google Sheets. In 2026 Adalo added an AI assistant called Ada for prompt-based building and editing, a ChatGPT integration, Google sign-in, and a Publishing Studio that prepares store screenshots, privacy policies and listing details.

Adalo launched publicly in November 2019. The company says more than 1 million apps have been created on the platform. It has been used for mobile MVPs, community apps and simple marketplaces by founders and small teams who don't write code.
